Acceptable use policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using the Fix My Pitch website and services (the “Platform”), including listings, messaging and live chat, reviews, and any other content you submit. It forms part of, and should be read with, our terms and conditions. By using the Platform you agree to this AUP.
In this AUP, “you” means any user — Customer, Contractor, or Partner.
1. General principle
Use the Platform lawfully, honestly, and respectfully. Do not use it in any way that harms other users, us, or any third party, or that brings the Platform into disrepute.
2. Prohibited content
You must not submit, post, or share content that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, or facilitates illegal activity;
- is defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory;
- is obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate;
- infringes anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- is false or misleading, including misrepresenting your identity, qualifications, certifications, or insurance;
- contains anyone else’s personal data shared without a lawful basis;
- contains viruses, malware, or harmful code.
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- impersonate any person or business, or falsely state your affiliation;
- submit, commission, incentivise, or solicit fake or misleading reviews, write reviews of your own business, or post reviews you know to be untrue. Submitting or commissioning fake reviews is unlawful;
- use the Platform to send spam, unsolicited marketing, or repetitive unwanted messages;
- attempt to defraud, scam, or mislead another user;
- harvest, scrape, or collect data about other users except as the Platform intends;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with the Platform’s security or operation;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent verification, payment, or moderation systems.
4. Messaging and live chat
The Platform includes messaging and live chat. When using them, you must:
- keep communications relevant, lawful, and respectful;
- not harass, abuse, or threaten others;
- not share another person’s private or sensitive information;
- not use chat to arrange activity that breaches these rules.
We may screen, monitor, and moderate messages and chat, including by automated means, to keep the Platform safe and lawful. Automated screening does not, on its own, make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Reviews and ratings
Reviews and ratings must reflect a genuine experience. The rules on reviews in our terms and conditions apply, and breaching them is a breach of this AUP.
6. Off-platform contact
Contractors and Partners must not use Platform communications to arrange to avoid Subscription fees in breach of the terms and conditions.
7. Reporting misuse
If you see content or behaviour that breaches this AUP, please report it to support@fixmypitch.co.uk. We review reports but do not guarantee any particular outcome.
8. Enforcement
If you breach this AUP, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including:
- editing, refusing, or removing content;
- issuing a warning;
- restricting, suspending, or terminating your account or listing;
- reporting to the relevant authorities where we are required or permitted to.
We will act proportionately, but we may act immediately where content or conduct is seriously harmful or unlawful.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the “Last updated” date above.
