GDPR & your data rights

Last updated: 2 June 2026

Fix My Pitch Ltd (“Fix My Pitch”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data processed through the Platform. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have a number of rights over your personal data, which we summarise below. For full detail on what we collect, why, and the lawful bases we rely on, see our privacy policy.

Who controls your data

We are the controller for the personal data you provide to us and that we generate as you use the Platform. When a customer engages a contractor or partner through the Platform, the customer and the contractor or partner share data directly with each other and each becomes an independent controller of the data they hold for the purpose of carrying out the work. This page concerns the data we control. To exercise rights against a contractor or partner directly, please contact them.

Your rights

You have the following rights under UK GDPR:

Right to be informed

To know what personal data we hold about you, why we process it, and who we share it with — set out in full in our privacy policy.

Right of access

To confirm whether we hold data about you and to receive a copy of it (a “subject access request”), together with information about how it is used.

Right to rectification

To have inaccurate personal data corrected, and incomplete data completed. You can update most account details yourself in your settings.

Right to erasure

To ask us to delete your personal data (“the right to be forgotten”) where there is no overriding lawful reason to keep it. See “Deleting your account” below.

Right to restrict processing

To ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances — for example while we check its accuracy or consider an objection.

Right to data portability

To receive the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.

Right to object

To object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time. Where you object to direct marketing, we will stop.

Rights around automated decision-making

We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone. Our automated chat and review moderation supports human oversight; you can ask for human review of any moderation outcome that affects you.

You can also withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (for example, for marketing). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing we carried out before you withdrew it.

Deleting your account (right to erasure)

You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account settings: Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm before anything happens.

When you delete your account, we anonymise the personal data in your profile and remove any public listing. We retain certain records we are legally required to keep — in particular financial and transaction records such as invoices and completed jobs — for as long as the law requires (generally 6 years for tax and accounting). Reviews may remain published but are anonymised so they are no longer linked to your identity. This anonymise-but-retain approach is permitted under UK GDPR Article 17(3), which allows us to keep data where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Once anonymised, retained records can no longer be used to identify you.

For your protection, we cannot delete an account while you have a job in progress or an open dispute. Please complete or resolve these first, or contact support@fixmypitch.co.uk for help.

How to make a request

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@fixmypitch.co.uk with details of your request. It helps if you tell us which right you wish to exercise and enough information for us to locate your data.

  • We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, to protect your data.
  • We will respond within one month. We may extend this by up to two further months for complex or numerous requests, and will tell you if we need to.
  • There is normally no charge. We may charge a reasonable fee, or decline, only where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, and we will explain why.

Marketing

We only send marketing where you have consented. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, by changing your preferences in your account, or by emailing privacy@fixmypitch.co.uk. Opting out of marketing does not stop service or transactional messages needed to run your account.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
